The Future Is Ours To Shape

Today, New York City woke up to the smell of political transformation in the air, carrying with it the idea that a door may be opening to a new sense of atmosphere and emphasis; one where community concerns, and the lives of real people, are prioritized. The narrow interests and the cruel and inflexible demands of the extractor class that tries at every turn to neutralize New Yorkers’ capacities to dream of and demand a better future are weakening. The people’s will to shape that future on their terms has had real consequences. It remains to be seen how all this will play out, but today we can enjoy that heady sense of possibility!

We’ll be talking about how to advocate to lawmakers about the issues that matter to you, and especially about expanding the New York State Bottle Bill to be more effective and supportive. Whether you’ve never called a representative before, or have been to more lobby days than you can keep track of, there’ll be something for you to learn or share.
